Wow, lots of stuff has been happening in the past couple of weeks! First, we had lots of family in town to visit me right after I was born: my great-grandparents, my grandparents and Aunt Staci, my cousin Peggy, Godmother Samantha, and cousins Dillon and Alexis. It was so much fun to be able to meet everyone, and Mommy, Daddy, and I were sad to see them go. We got some great pictures with everyone, and hopefully we'll see them all again soon!
On Monday my parents took me to see Dr. Leeper, my pediatrician. It wasn't so bad at first; the nurse weighed and measured me (I'm 3.5 ounces over my birth weight at 7lb 9.5 oz, and I've grown 3/4 of an inch), asked my parents some questions about me and said that everything is totally normal (my sleeping and eating habits, the dryness of my skin, etc.). The doctor left and I thought we were ready to go home...but then the nurse came back into the room with a big needle! She said she had to give me a vaccination and stuck the needle in my leg. It really hurt! I got really mad and screamed at her, and Mommy said my face got really red. Luckily, Mommy was allowed to hold me the whole time, so she snuggled me and told me it would be okay, which made me feel better. When we finally got home, I was really tired and slept a lot for the rest of the day - which meant that I was awake all night!
For the most part, though, I've been sleeping pretty well at night. I usually sleep for about 2 to 4 hours at a time, but I still get hungry in between those stretches. I eat about 2 to 3 ounces at each sitting - my mom says that if I eat a little bit more each time I won't have to eat as often and I'll be able to sleep longer...but I'm not sure she knows what she's talking about. I think I'll stick with what I'm doing for awhile!
Dr. Leeper said that it was okay for me to go out in public (as long as lots of people don't try to touch me or pick me up), so my parents have been taking me out a lot - we've been out to eat a couple of times, and I've been to Bath & Body Works and Best Buy to meet some of the people Mommy and Daddy work with. We've also been to Target and Babies R Us. I like going out...it gives me a chance to catch up on my sleep! I usually fall asleep in the car on the way and sleep through the entire outing.
All in all, I'm adjusting pretty well to life in the outside world, and enjoying all the new things I get to experience everyday!
